SIPAG Recognition Day held

After finishing twelve sessions of Simula ng Pag-asa (SIPAG) program, 435 recovery fighters out of the listed 955 drug dependents, graduated at Barangay Payocpoc Sur Covered Court, October 21 receiving their certificates of completion.

SIPAG program aims of addressing the emotional physiological, relational and spiritual issues confronting drug dependents and their family members.
Philippine National Police (PNP) headed by PC Insp. Joel P. Lagto, joined efforts with Bauang LGU headed by Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. de Guzman III, Bauang Evangelical Ministry Association (BEMA) and Jesus is Lord (JIL).

MAYOR DE GUZMAN AND MENRO OFFICER ATTEND BNS BORDA SEMINAR

Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. de Guzman III with Wilson Samuel C. Caluza, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) attended Basic Needs Services, Philippines - Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association (BNS-BORDA) at Pullman Bangkok, G. Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand.

The seminar aimed to tackle the challenges of sanitation and to address the Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda in Southeast Asia (SEA), BORDA and its partners, with selected partner cities applying an Integrated Sanitation approach.

Since knowledge transfer and exchange, capability buildings are crucial for the successful application of system solutions, BORDA aims to found the city alliance “People -Sanitation – Cities”. This will serve as an interest group of partner cities in implementing system solutions for the management of urban matters.

MAYOR DE GUZMAN CALLS ON BRGY CAPTAINS’ COOPERATION

Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. de Guzman III called on all the 39 barangay captains of Bauang to prioritize health, sanitation, peace and order in each barangay during the GABAY at Parian Este, Bauang La Union.

“Work hard in your own barangays especially now that the election this May will be pushed through”, the Mayor reminded the barangay captains.
He asked them to take good care of their recovery fighters or Drug Personalities (DP’s). He asked them to advise them not to go back to their old ways.
“We don’t stop clearing these drug surrenderees for their own good,” the Mayor urged everyone involved in their clearing.

Actvate your ICS - Mayor Martin

“Activate your Incident Command System (ICS).” This was emphasized by Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. de Guzman III to the barangay captains present during the Gobiernong Abot ang Barangay (GABAY) at Barangay Carmay, Bauang, La Union.

Joel Caniezo, the new Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Council (MDRRMC) officer had a training regarding the ICS. The mayor tasked Caniezo and his staff to train LGU and barangay personnel on the ICS. This program must be given care and attention to save people’s lives. If the Manila Trench moves from North to South, the result will be nine meters high tsunami.

Manila Trench is an oceanic trench in the Pacific Ocean, located west of the islands of Luzon and Mindanao in the Philippines.
People along the coastal barangays must be given tsunami drills. The nearest evacuation centers will be Acao and Ballay.
