DTI Asst. Sec. Lantayona graces Bauang Negosyo Center and OTOP store’s launching

Written by Bauang PIO

Enjoy the luscious sweet grapes. Taste the fresh and crunchiness of guapples. Wear the elegant crocheted products of Bauang. Experience the benefits of turmeric. Patronize the different products of La Union Central Eastern Circuit.

These are taglines that capture the hearts of tourists and buyers as they enter the portals of the newly blessed Bauang Negosyo Center and One Town One Product (OTOP) store.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Assistant Secretary Blesila A. Lantayona graced the launching and blessing of Bauang’s Negosyo Center and One Town One Product (OTOP) store at Bauang Acacia Acade.

DTI Regional Director Florante O. Leal, Provincial Director Daria R. Mingaracal with Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin P. de Guzman III and Vice Mayor Bonifacio G. Malinao, assisted in the cutting of the ribbon.

Rev. Father Rizal Acosta, an SVD priest of Bauang and a local resident blessed the center.

After the blessing, the heads of office and the Bauang local officials unveiled the Negosyo Center Signage.

Present during the occasion were the different heads of Bauang Local Government Unit and other important guests.

Meanwhile, the Central Eastern Circuit of La Union composed of Bauang, Naguilian, Burgos and Bagulin displayed their products as the Trail Blazer Project of the Circuit. This is in line with the Governor Pacoy Ortega’s vision and mission of making La Union as the seat of Agri-Tourism of Northern Luzon. Five circuits were organized in the province and these were required to have their own Trail Blazer Projects.

Aside from the local products of Bauang like fresh guapples and grapes, crocheted materials, wines, guapple jam, craftily woven labtang products, turmeric, t-shirts, mugs, ref magnets, the center boasts of the famous basi and pure vinegar made from sugar cane of Naguilian. Burgos captivates the eyes of tourists by their multi-colored soft brooms or buyboy. Bagulin is proud with the crunchy original banana chips and its own turmeric. One does not need to reach these for flung towns to have a taste of their products. You just have to pass by Bauang Pasalubong Center and you have them all. The center also displays its Central Eastern circuit’s brochures and flyers. These serve as information for tourists to know the different tourist sites and establishments that they can visit.
