“Continue touching the lives of your barangay mates”- Nisce

This was the challenge of Vice Governor of La Union Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce when he graced the Bauang’s Rabii ti Bumarangay at Farmers’ Civic Center.

Nisce inspired the local officials of Bauang headed by Mayor Eulogio Clarence Martin de Guzman III, the 39 barangay captains, their kagawads and their barangay mates by relating an anecdote about a boy whom the Vice Governor gave a Christmas gift of ₱200 pesos. The boy gave voluntarily the ₱100 pesos to an old man known as “Kalapati” of San Fernando City as a gesture of kindness.

He told the audience to continue making a difference in the lives of people they come in contact with in their daily works.

‘’Your Mayor has touched the lives of so many people of Bauang. You have the best mayor and let us be one in supporting him, his programs for the improvement of Bauang. Promote your town as a whole especially your fine beaches, your fruits like dragon fruits, grapes and guapples which are the best,” he told the public.

Mutia ti Bauang Talent Competition was held simultaneously with the Barangay Night. Among the 12 candidates, three finalists were chosen who will show their talents during the Mutia ti Bauang Selection and Coronation on January 5. These winners were: Candidate No. 6 Cherish dela Tonga of Quinavite who delivered a declamation piece. Candidate No. 5 Sharis Loren Tabac of Central East in her Latin dance number and Candidate No. 12 Princess Anne Gilbuena from Santiago in her belly dancing.

Winners in the Kayo ti Panagbalbaliw and Parol ti Panagbalbaliw competition were awarded of cash prizes, trophies and certificates. The winners were: Kayo ti Panagbalbaliw: Champion, Barangay Payocpoc Sur, first runner up, Barangay Pottot and second runner up, Barangay Urayong. In the Parol ti Panagbalbaliw, Champion was Payocpoc Sur followed by Barangay Parian Este then Barangay Paringao. The drug reformers made these Christmas trees and lanterns in cooperation with their barangays.
