Eleven barangays for Bauang’s Gobiernong Abot ang Barangay (GABAY) since Mayor Martin de Guzman III assumed office July 2010.

Barangay Pilar was the recent stop for the GABAY last July 29. Various services were rendered by the different departments of the local government and organizations. Among them are the medical and dental mission of the Municipal Health Office, LU Medical Foundation and the LU Provincial Police Office, Blood Typing services was provided by the Philippine Red Cross, Hyposol for safe drinking were also awarded for the residents, a supplemental feeding program from the Municipal Nutrition Action Office, mobile library, gift giving for the children from the Baggak Choir. More than 300 residents availed of such free services.

After a holy mass officiated by Fr. Edwin Fontanilla which started the activity, 14 children were baptized which was sponsored by the St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Subsequently, Mayor de Guzman solemnized the marriage of two couples.

Vice Mayor Angelo Aquino, the members of the Sangguniang Bayan, the different Punong Barangays, and Department Heads were in full attendance. Punong Barangay Marivick Bulacan in her message expressed her gratitude that various services were brought to their barangay.

Previously, GABAY were in barangays Upper San Agustin, Bucayab, Pugo, Pagdalagan Sur, Casilagan, Carmay, Cabalayangan, Payocpoc Sur, Sta. Monica, and Palintucang..
