BAUANG is 427 Years Old

A simple celebration was made for Bauang’s 427 years since its founding on January 5, 1586. It is one of the oldest towns in La Union after Agoo founded in 1586 and before Bacnotan founded in 1599.

 

Bauang was a pre-colonial settlement in the country that became one of the first missions organized by the Augustinians in Northern Luzon. It is also one of the first 12 towns that created La Union in 1850.

Civil Service bares activities for 112th anniversary

DAGUPAN CITY, May 22 (PIA) -- The Philippine Civil Service is set to hold various activities as part of its 112th anniversary in September.

The month-long celebration will be spearheaded by the Civil Service Commission (CSC) bannering the theme, "Kawani, Ikaw ay Isang Lingkod Bayani."

In Memorandum Circular No. 8 series of 2012, CSC chairman Francisco Duque III enjoins all government agencies to participate in the celebration that aims to promote, showcase, and celebrate heroism in public service as well as highlight stories of triumph and sacrifice among the men and women in government service.

Jobs fair tampok sa “Baggak Festival” sa La Union

        Sa ginanap na “Baggak Festival” kamakailan sa bayan ng Bauang sa probinsiya, tampok ang ikaapat na pagsasagawa ng jobs fair rito bilang parte ng selebrasyon.

         Ayon kay Marvin Sandaga Subala, Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Manager ng naturang bayan, sila’y nakapagtala ng umaabot sa 324 aplikante.

         Ang mga ito ay college graduate, college level, undergraduate at high school graduate.

         Aniya, mayroong 15 employers o amo kabilang sa lokal ang siyang nag-alok ng trabaho nitong Abril 24 habang sa overseas naman ay 13 na amo.

LGU- Bauang calls for No Use of Plastic Bags

The Municipality of Bauang is implementing an approved ordinance prohibiting the use of plastic bags on dry goods and regulating its use on wet goods. This is a part of a global environmental campaign on the reduction of non-biodegradable waste such as plastic bags.

The objective of the ordinance (Resolution No. 194, Series of 2011) is to reduce if not totally eliminate the use of plastic bags as packaging materials and to encourage the public in using alternative packaging materials such as bayong (woven bags),katsa (cloth bags), banban (bamboo strip), paper bags, and other similar materials and to bring with them their own recyclable and reusable bags/containers when going to the public market.
