TOP PERFORMING INDIVIDUALS AND GROUPS RECEIVE AWARDS

To recognize top performing Bauangenios and groups in their own fields of endeavor and to be a source of inspiration for others to emulate, Bauang LGU awarded plaques of recognition during the Pammadayaw as part of Baggak Festival on January 5, 2018 at Bauang Farmers’ Civic Center.

These awardees are the following: Ulirang Bauangenian Award – PFC Jomar Barberan Abuan of Barangay Parian Este. He was one of those who fought during the Marawi City siege.

Tawid Award in the group category was BongPyeong Middle and High School represented by its Principal, Dr. Lak Hyun Sim, Ph.D.

BongPyeong Middle and High School of Bong-pyeong-myeon, Pyeongchang-gun, Gangwon-do, South Korea signed an agreement making the establishment of a sisterhood relationship with Don Eulogio de Guzman Memorial National High School that started last December 2015. Such friendship is still sustained as of today until the future.
Individual Category for Tawid Award was Dr. Kaezel A. Lauigan in the field of health.

MUTIA TI BAUANG CROWNED

Mutia ti Bauang was crowned during the culmination of 432nd founding anniversary and celebration of Baggak Festival, January 5 at Bauang Farmers’ Civic Center.
Florie Ann Madayag, candidate #12 was the 2018 Mutia ti Bauang. She bested 11 candidates bagging Miss Photogenic and Best in Talent as she displayed her prowess in belly dancing to the beat of an Arabian music.

Other members of her court included candidate #9, First Runner Up, Niña Sastremedjo, who garnered Best in Long Gown. Second Runner Up, Candidate #11 was Sharis Loren Tabac. Third Runner Up was Jasmin Manzano, Candidate #2. She was awarded as Miss Denisia’s Grill, Miss Kwalitea and Miss Coca-Cola. Fourth Runner Up was Paula Grace Picardal, Candidate #10. She was also Best in Swimsuit.

Cherish dela Tonga was pinned with the sash as Miss Friendship with a trophy and a cash prize.

BAUANG LGU RENEWS FRIENDSHIP TIES WITH TAEBAEK CITY

Bauang LGU renews friendship ties with Taebaek City, Gangwon-do, South Korea on January 5, Bauang Farmers’ Hall.
Mayor Kim Yeon-Sik with seven of his delegates from Taebaek City, 11 delegates from Jeongseon Arirang Cultural Foundation, 30 delegates including students and teachers from Bongpyeong Middle and High School arrived in Bauang to renew and rekindle friendship with the local government of Bauang and to be a part of Baggak Festival. They will be watching Mutia ti Bauang pageant.

An unveiling ceremony of friendship marker of Taebaek City happened in front of the municipal hall with Mayor de Guzman, Mayor Kim, local government officials of both Taebaek City and Bauang were present. The unveiling of sisterhood marker of Lakewood City, Washington, USA followed.

A simple program was held at Bauang Farmer’s Hall after the unveiling ceremony.

12 MUTIA TI BAUANG 2018 CANDIDATES VIE FOR BEST IN TALENT

12 beautiful and gorgeous candidates for Mutia ti Bauang 2018 displayed their talents during the Talent Search, January 3, 7:00 P.M. at Bauang Farmers’ Civic Center.
These lovely candidates are the following: Lyka Grace Balagot, Jasmin Manzano, Syrah Mae Flores, Nerissa Flores, Cherish dela Tonga, Sacha Tarryn Rejuso, Janine Jei Guingania, Davita Joni Mcnab, Niña Sastrodemedjo, Paula Grace Picardal, Sharis Loren Tabac and Florie Ann Madayag. Their talents included belly dancing, hiphop dancing, declamation, singing and a magic show.

Out of the 12 candidates, five were chosen as finalists. They will showcase their talents during the Search for Mutia ti Bauang 2018 on January 5 at Bauang Civic Center.
Florie Ann Madayag, candidate #12 conquered the dance floor in her blue, shimmering costume by performing a belly dance as her body gyrated with ease and grace, capturing the hearts of the three young judges.

Candidate #2 Jasmin Manzano performed a power dance number. Cherish dela Tonga, #5 candidate delivered a heart breaking dramatic declamation that moved the audience teary eyed.

Davita Joni Mcnab #8, showcased her prowess in singing “Part of the World”, a Broadway classical music in her mermaid costume and props. Her talent is very fitting to her very angelic face and long curly hair.

Candidate #10, Paula Grace Picardal awed the judges and the audience through her various magic tricks and antics.
