Mayor Menchie is in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE) from February 8 until February 13 for the third and final component of the Asia Pacific Mayors Academy, during the Tenth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF-10). The modules to be delivered will focus on the expanding on the technical initiatives developed for each city during the Bangkok sessions.  With the help of the academy they will mobilize technical experts and resources partners in Abu Dhabi to work with each mayor on their initiatives.  They will also offer recommendations for various events and sessions according to the identified priority topics in the hope that mayor will be able to take full advantage of their participation in WUF 10.

The Tenth edition of the World Urban Forum (WUF10) is convened by UN-Habitat in partnership with various government and non-government organization. The theme of the Tenth Session is Cities of Opportunities: Connecting Culture and Innovation. Six Dialogues Sessions at the WUF10 will take stock of emerging innovative approaches and practices in harnessing culture and innovation as drivers for sustainable urbanization and provide greater insights into the linkages between urbanization, culture and innovation as a basis for achieving inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements. They will promote synergies between tradition and modernity, creating spaces for convergence in multicultural and multigenerational communities and explore the role of culture and innovation in implementation of the New Urban Agenda and achieving urban dimensions of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
