Bauang Water Refilling Association (BWRA) in cooperation with Department of Health (DOH) conducts Basic Certification Course for Water Refilling Station Plant Operators and / or Owners from April 8-12, 2019 at Farmers Hall, Bauang, La Union.
69 water refilling station plant operators and owners from Region I attend the 5 day certification course.
Speakers during the course were provided by DOH. On the first day of the training course, orientation on the course was presented and the participants were introduced. They leveled up their expectations. Dr. Amelia Dumaoang conducted a quiz to find out the level of the knowledge of the participants. She discussed “Water/ Sanitary Chemistry”.
Architect Rhodel Carolino discussed “Ecology and Hydrology” while Dr. Amelia Dumaoang presented “Microbiology and Parasitology”. Engr. Ashley Antonio discussed “Environmental Health and Sanitation ESI”.
On the second day, Dr. Dumaoang is the speaker on “Water/ Sanitary Chemistry”. Engr., Ashley Antonio had “Environmental Health and Sanitation Part II and Water Treatment”. Engr. Jefferson Paplonot had “WRS Initial and Operational Permit Requirements”, “Sanitary Requirements for the Development of Water Refilling Stations”. Antonio also discussed “Supplemental IRR on Water Supply”.
On the third day, a quiz is conducted to gauge participants’ learnings of the previous topics discussed. Paplonot discussed “Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water”.
Engr. Antonio continued his topic on “Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point”, Architect Carolino with “Plumbing as Applied to Water Refilling Station”.
On the 4th day, “Operation and Maintenance of Water Refilling Station”, “Environmental and Sanitation Part 3 and 4” by Engr. Antonio.
The participants break down in groups to have their discussions. The activity will culminate with the participants’ field visits to different water refilling stations in Bauang. Groups will report of their findings after their visits. The awarding of certificates will follow.

This organization is in charge of monitoring the cleanliness and safety of commercial drinking water of Bauangenios in cooperation with Bauang Rural Health Unit and DOH.
