To sustain an improved quality of life by providing extended social service to the elderly in their twilight ages; “The Bauang Nonagerian Ordinance of 2018” was passed and approved by the Sangguniang Bayan on May 2, 2018 through the Passage of Ordinance No. 14 Series of 2018 that took effect last January 1, 2019.
The ordinance granted five thousand Philippine pesos (Php5, 000.00) to every senior citizen of Bauang beginning at the age of 90 years old and every year thereafter until he or she reaches the age of 99.
These nonagerians must be 90 years of age and above upon the approval of this ordinance, a resident of Bauang for at least one year and a registered senior citizen at the Office of Senior Citizen’s Affairs (OSCA).
Nonagerians must present at OSCA proof of his birth/age; any of the following: birth certificate and OSCA ID, GSIS ID and OSCA ID, SSS ID and OSCA ID, PVAO ID and OSCA ID, PNP ID and OSCA ID, BIR TIN and OSCA ID, Drivers’ License and OSCA ID, Voters ID and OSCA ID.
Other documents that maybe accepted are baptismal certificate with notarized affidavit of two disinterested persons and OSCA ID, Marriage contract with affidavit of two disinterested persons, birth certificate of oldest child and OSCA ID.
Appropriation to implement the provision of the ordinance and its rule shall be included in the budget of the Chief Executive where OSCA is a component.
