These were the challenging words that Gov. Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega III said in his speech delivered by Vice Governor Aureo Augusto Q. Nisce during the opening of the 2nd Agri- Tourism Festival at La Union Provincial Capitol, San Fernando City, La Union.
An Agri-Tourism Village composed of 19 towns and one city divided in five circuits: Northern, Central, Central Eastern, South, and Southern Eastern decorated their booths with their products ranging from agriculture products, tourism products and services. All these booths are entries for the “Search for Best Agri – Tourism Booth” which is one of the highlights in the celebration of the 169th Foundation Anniversary of La Union. The village is open from February 22- March 9, 2019.
The Provincial Government of La Union (PGLU) was inspired with the success of “Paskuhan sa Capitolyo” which was visited by 117,000 guests coming from different parts of Region I and the province. PGLU conceived of the Capitol Hill as another tourism site where families can gather together and spend quality time together.
The Agri-Tourism were organized to strengthen the vision of the governor to make La Union as the heart of Agri-Tourism in Northern Luzon by 2025. PGLU hopes that there will be more visitors who will visit our province though this Agri- Tourism Village. Each circuit is assigned a day to have its presentation to entertain visitors and tourist.
After the opening program a firework display completed the event which made the audience felt hilarious and happy.
Winners in the Search for Best Agri Tourism Booth will be announced on March 2 at the Provincial Capitol.
