New libraries, New Hopes for La Union students
Written by Sheena Valenzuela (AHON Foundation)

Smiles and hopes poured in as the Acts of Hope for the Nation (AHON) Foundation opened up new libraries with new books in La Union on a rainy morning last June 13,2014.

The AHON team, led by its chairman Hector O. Tagaysay, inaugurated 4 public elementary school libraries in La Union namely Aringay Central School, Bauang North Central School, Paringao Elementary School, and Bangar Central School. These libraries will benefit almost 5,000 students who will now have new books to read and learn from.

Each school had their own turnover and inauguration ceremonies as they welcomed the new school year with their new libraries. Aringay Central School made it unique by using a Powerpoint presentation. For a public school, the use of a Powerpoint presentation was a sign that technology was now being utilized to further enhance the learning process.
